Do'es anybody remember a tv series a long time ago about the jason and the argonauts ship the argo. this group of men had the ship rebuilt and rowed and sailed it along the same voyage that the origanal ship was supposed to have travelled.

Search the Greek Navy sites too, they help out with manpower for these kind of projects, the Trirene comes to mind. Dont know about the Argo.

Can't remember a series - I do remember the film.  Back in the day when special effects were just that, and not software creations.  I seem to recall that the Athena figurehead chatted with Jason and as he was either steering or ordering the steersman about, he would have been at the stern, so Athena would have been at the stern, looking over the ship.
Reading http://www.salimbeti.com/micenei/ships.htm (about 3/4 down) the Argus was made from magic wood and therefore had the ability to speak.  Did the ancients have imagination or what?
I recall a documentary about the rebuild and its voyage through to the Black Sea.
