RE280 Motors
« on: June 28, 2012, 05:15:36 pm »

Hi,

Has anyone any knowledge of RE280 motors?  Are they any good for scale model boats (small tug, 2 x 25mm, possibly 2 x 30mm props)?

Thanks

They are low voltage motors, good for about 3 volts only. The RE280/1 motors are a better bet, they are rated up to 24 Volts and give a useful turn of speed on a small model above 7.2 volts. Somewhat less' sparky' than their lower voltage cousins too. There is an ongoing post elsewhere on the forum involving a Lindberg Blue Devil Destroyer fitted with a pair of these.
