Apologies for the delay in replying... quite a lot has happened since Friday, none of which I could have predicted..
I had left it in my last post, that I would be going for a 3-Day ECG on Monday the 2nd of July - well ...
I began to feel really unwell around 10:00pm Saturday night, and following the advice received from the
cardiologist during Fridays visit, I dialled 999. Briefly after the paramedic turned up, closely follwed by an
ambulance I was off to Hull Royal Hospital A and E - I spent Saturday night there before being moved to
Castle Hill Hospital Cardiac Ward on Sunday.
Yesterday afternoon I was fitted with a pacemaker, and here I sit at home, with a left shoulder
that aches like h*ll, but thankful that the NHS has come to the rescue.
It has all happened roughly within a week of being told that I needed a pacemaker !
It will be all R and R now, for 6-8 weeks roughly, before I return to Castle Hill for a follow-up but I'll try
and keep you posted if anything significant happens l
I have to contact my car insurance people, and the DVLA but if the Doc says its OK I'll be allowed
to drive in a weeks time.
Richard
p.s. thanks very much for all the best wishes - they were much appreciated.
