To AZIZ .... a Son
« on: April 20, 2007, 11:38:35 am »

Found this on Ebay and couldn't resist it.

It's a tiny tug which runs on on 27 MHz,  with forward and reverse on twin props. (looked good on the advert, so lets try it and see !!)

Runs for 5 Min's.     :D

I only wanted to see the microelectronics to see if it could be modified for something on my Aziz, but it looks so lovely, I might keep it as a lifeboat or something.

All this for £4.99...............  Shock horror probe !!!    Brill, as they say.

Cheers...Ken

Hi rats,

I think you could be on to something here.

We've had how big is your shed/workshop discusion.
Hows about a 'how many double socket outlets do you have in your work shop' thread.

I've never had my sockets admired before   ;D

Yes. I have 27 sockets altogether. The workshop is 30 foot by 12 foot, with two benches in an L shape, against the walls at one end.

This is a hangover from my days of repairing Yamaha Keyboards and electronic organs. I still keep my hand in (as it were), but the career has come to a natural slowing down. hence my boat building forays !!

That's not a workshop, more of a aircraft hanger!
I don't think I have 27 sockets in my entire house.........

If I could have worked out how to do it, this post would have been in GREEN

My workshop, (which used to be a bedroom in a Bed & Breakfast) is 10 x 11 feet.
It has ONE socket outlet.
To this a 4 way extension lead is plugged, which is fitted to the R/H end of the bench
A TWO way extension is plugged into this and run to the middle back of the bench.
This has a double adaptor in one outlet, and a 4 way extension plugged in the other, leading to the left end of the bench.
I was going to do a clever lay out of this posting with a vertical line of capital letters reading BANG, but can't be botherred. Too busy poring water over the electrics to keep them cool.

Mine are a mix of singles and doubles, and I was totaling the number of plugs which can be used at once. I have them on their own 'Ring main' which is fused with it's own mains power switch.
My wife has the tendency of looking at all the plugs and checking it's all off, before retiring at night. She will switch off each individual socket and then the main ring. I keep teeling her that the electricity doesn't leak out, but she won't have it.   :D

Kenny,

Tell her if the little flaps are shut on the socket holes then the electricity wont escape!

Re sockets:

When I built my new workshop as well as all the wall mounted outlets, I wired in two suspended sockets. They are a great boon and, I think, a great aid to workshop safety as I now have less cables trailing across the floor and benches.
