iPad screens....
« on: July 07, 2012, 08:24:41 am »

Question for all you owners of iPads and various other tablet pc's...how do you keep your screens clean and free of finger marks?

Hello Rich

You can't, but to protect the screen so that you can clean it regularly with no damage to the actual screen itself fit a screen protector, they are very tough. They also protect the screen from scratches, I put my Iphone in my pocket with my van keys by mistake, the screen protector had two deep scratches in it , the screen was untouched, a scratched screen also reduces the resale value of any of these devices a lot more than the cost of a screen protector.

I bought my screen protectors off eBay, still on after a year....

Has anyone found a way of posting pictures on here with a iPad?  I can't see a way as of yet....

Funny as how I'm doing this on a iPad right now... A microfiber cloth will clean the screen quite nicely. Screen protectors can, sometimes, reduce the sensitivity of the screen, so YMMV. Also the screens are Gorilla glass and you have to work at it to scratch them.

Thanks fellas,

I did have a screen protector on my old Motorola A1000, but it never did stick properly for some reason.

I do however have a very posh cloth and a small bottle of something which came with my flat screen tv when I bought it last year, I might try that...I did clean the tv screen with it and it's amazing, so fingers crossed it may work on my tablet.

Its a bit of a lottery with those ebay screen protectors

The kids have them on their nintendo DS's and they stick fine (been on for almost 2 years and they take a lot of abuse.
The one I got for the wifes phone lasted less than a week.

At least 4 options for you. The first thing I bought for the iPad was a "leather" case (by TeckNet) that has access to all the controls and camera lenses. Then I got a pack of screen protectors...but they didn't reduce screen glare when used outdoors. Then came a pack of anti-glare sheets that do the job reasonably well without dulling the screen. Then there's a cover (bought by my son) that has a built-in keyboard which he swears is miles better than the on-screen version. BY.

That's exactly what I've bought for mine, should be here in a  couple of days...nice looking piece of kit and it will help stop me touching an unwanted key with the base of my little finger.

Thank you all for your comments, gentlemen...most helpful.
