Skin plasters
« on: July 10, 2012, 06:33:49 pm »

I'm sure you used to be able to buy a paint on skin plaster protector but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
It was a bit like copydex but thicker.... I have a really annoying abrasion on a finger tip and plaster just get in the way....

Any recommendations?  <:(

This stuff is pricey but lasts for ages - puts a plastice type skin over a cut

From memory, the stuff you are thinking of could be "Nu-Skin".
Hope that helps.

I found something like it in a little aerosol in Asda (own brand).  Just wondering - if its waterproof, will it be a good sealer for servos and such?

The brush on stuff is waterproof, therefore i see no reason why the spray won,t be waterproof, because after all,its use is to protect, the cut,or abrasion

The lab results are in...

Elastoplast Spray Plaster - OK but wears away quickly - very thin, offers no cushioning.

Germolene new skin - A bit better that the spay on stuff but offs not much chusioning either.
Applicator in bottle is tricky to use, it's a plastic wedge shaped "brush".

Opsite Spray Dressing - Haven't tried it yet - seems very expensive......

Also tried Finger Cots but was lauged out of the house for wearing a condom on me finger!  >:-o

Gone back to the old tried and tested method plaster wif an extra bit of selotape raaand it!   {-)

So much for modern medicines!!

PVC tape is better (and easier to spell!)
