My first Semi-Kit
« on: April 19, 2007, 07:19:33 pm »

Here is a pic of my first, nearly completed, SIRMAR semi kit. I have allways built the old wooden galleons but thought it was time for a change.
I originally was going for TICONDEROGA but Paul from Sirmar talked me out of that and that the Burke class was a much more stable vessel to biuld and also it was my first one.  Since I hadn't built one before Paul put me onto " holmsey "  who sent me literally hundreds of photo's that basically constituted a contruction manual. These were a tremendous help and I will be eternally gratefull to him.

Hi Dave
So pleased you have got it done, she looks good. I've got a bit to go yet. It's a shame they won't sail together though. What's next?

looking really nice wouldn't mind building one myself but I have nowhere to build it as my daughters Ark Royal is taking up way too much space and Hannah has now decided that we should build a couple of springers for the Mayhem weekend, oh well 36 hour days 10 days a week!! no rest for the wicked I suppose.
