Looking good.   I recognise the draw arm.  Isn't it from the tube carrier  ?  Some real heavy steel in this model and smashing wheels.    :-))

Correct Ken, it's a pole trailer. I'm hoping that the ride height will be about right, as you say there's a lot of heavy metal there, don't fancy having to cut it about...

And when I get fed up taking the dog n' pup out...four screws, a couple of electric connections unplugged/replugged, and I have a tipper to play with.

Working on it, Ken...but yes, it will tip by radio in the very near future. The tailgate is just gravity operated, and held closed by a small magnet.

Is there any difficulty using a decal on a textured surface like that? It looks perfectly smooth.

No Dave, the (vinyl) decals were very easy to apply. No warming needed, all I did was to make sure the surfaces were clean (just a wash down with soapy water, and dry off with a tissue) line the decals up...apply them, count ten, and remove the backing paper by gently and slowly pulling at 90 degrees to the surface.

I used a sheet of kitchen roll wrapped over a finger nail, and GENTLY rubbed the decals into the ridges on the body sides, and around the cab area where the Mercedes badge is....job done.

I'm well pleased with them, and for £10 the lot...no complaints at all.

I have a tipper body coming for the truck, and I'll be using the same decals on that when it arrives. This is the guy that made them for me...his name is Andrew.

He can make practically anything...apart from the usual run of the mill decals, he'll do anything you can come up with. All different fonts, colours and sizes.

Where's that Kenny Boy...

Here you go, Ken...the pup is coming on now. It sits a bit high though, so I have to figure out how to make it sit lower.

Let some air out of the tyres.      {-)

Seriously though, you will have to drop the height to make it match up.  Either relocate the wishbone springs down a bit or drop the roof.  I don't envy you the thought required as I'm doing this all day to line  'things' up.  I know you'll find a way.

Cheers,

Can you elaborate a bit more, Ken?

The points at which the wheel axles are pivoted on the chassis can be re-located  (new holes to be drilled) so that they go higher up.  Thus bringing the box above down lower.  I've not seen the chassis so I don't know how much room you have to play with.

The front coupling bar would also have to match up to bring the front end down a bit.

If you possibly post some side view pictures we might get a better idea.

Lorraine has just come up with a clever idea...raise the body on the truck. A couple of lengths of 10mm square styrene tube laid on top of the chassis rails...drill through, refit with longer bolts...a possibility, methinks.

Good lateral thinking.  The wind deflector might look lower but the tops will line up.

I was just replying with a Pup dropping design. The chassis is toooooo solid to mess with so I figured you could cut the bottom floor all around and relocate it 10mm lower on the chassis.  Sounds a lot of work however.

I thought about removing the alloy floor panel, and making a frame inside the body, then refitting the chassis...

But, Lori's idea seems a really good one, and much easier to do. After dinner, I shall be measuring 'things....'  ;D

Never thought about the wind deflector...hmm. Either remove it all together, or scratch build a replacement. Hmm... :o

The dog was built with the idea of easily turning it into a tipper, as you know...so, we unscrew four bolts and lift the box body off, drop the tipper body on...re attach with four bolts, plug the flashing beacons in, and we have a tipper.

Three photos for your perusal, Ken...and an extra one showing a little under floor box for road cones, ropes, chains, etc.

Does it tip? If not why not  ;D  If you need another tipper body I have one in the cupboard somewhere.
