Sorry to hear that.

The Police should be able to help now that you have the car's registration number.

I take it the police have been informed?  In spite of their reputation that they have been gathering for being profoundly disinterested in anything not involving pubs, horse racing or football, they do occasionally manage to retrieve stuff.  Over the years, its worked out at about 1 in 6 for me.
2nd item is spelled Peugeot.

although having a motor stolen from the transom is never good , i find youyr discription of the accused conflicting , on this site hes a skinny , lanky 20 something year old , yet on another site hes of medium build and 5ft 6" tall ! might be good to keep an eye open at the boat jumbles

You could put in a  'Saved search'  with specific details of the motor.  When one comes up, you will be notified by Ebay directly.

Saves constantly looking and searching.

Hope this helps

I found the police to be very good in finding stolen property, they just don't like giving it back...

About five years ago I bought a brand new generator to use with my (then) newly acquired caravan...gennie was delivered next day, so I put it in the garage ready to try out at the weekend. Weekend arrived, I went to the garage (door still padlocked and secured), opened up and found...no gennie. Called the police, and out they duly came, did all the taking of statements, fingerprinting everywhere, and off they went.

Middle of the following week, I received a phone call from them asking if I would pop into the police station and identify a gennie...I took all the paperwork, invoices, etc...everything matched, it was my gennie, still wrapped and boxed. I was told it was needed for evidence, and they would call me and let me know when I could have it back.

After a year I gave up...we'd sold the caravan anyway, and I'd moved out of the marital home. I never did get my gennie back, despite many a phone call...

Hope you have better luck with your outboard, Ben...

These things appear in Police "Sales" at regular intervals throughout the year. Post Office hold similar for lost (Found) property. Good luck with the outboard Kid, value? if less than the £500 it will probably cost in beurocratic paperwork it generates - go figure.

Never ceased to amaze the "Treasure Trove" section on crimewatch, how so many high value items were recovered but not picked up by other police forces as stolen from their patch. Should be easier with computers to assist?

Even if it's bolted down, somebody always has the right size spanner in his pocket....

We had our van stolen from the Chrysler repair shop. We had to have a vehicle so we purchased a another van for our business. Eight days later our van was found abandoned with both front tires burst. We went to the police compound to pick it up. We had to pay $128.00 to get it back & also $150.00 for the tow truck. It took a day to clean it up & $300.00 for tyres & alignment. The insurance company wiggled out of paying any claim on the grounds it was not locked up when we left it at the repair shop despite the fact that the lock on the passenger door had been forced. We had not signed a repair order at the repair shop so their insurance company refused to pay as well despite the owners stating that we had left it there for repairs.Total cost to our company was nearly $11,000.00, all because someone wanted to joy ride. The whole thing just added insult to injury.Mick B.
