All that really needs to happen is

1. members on all boards talk to each othe respectfully and we remember it is a family forum
2. members concern themselves with their own posts and interests and not with where someone else wants to post

just a bit of mutual respect really

To the ‘friends of Mayhem’
– from Martin

It has been suggested that the Chat-chat board is removed, as that is where 95% of the moderation, and subsequent
arguments about moderation occur. Rather than remove the chat board - other members have suggested that I simply
ban it's abusers. I am reluctant to do this…… but am considering it.

And we've already had our first casualty.  This forum is mainly about model boats with a chit chat section as a nicety. Lets keep it that way.

Perfectly right and no one could object to the sentiment, but unfortunately that isn't what actually happens.  Most people would also agree that all men should live in peace - but they don't. Human nature unfortunately gets in the way.

Just about everyone considers their own behaviour to be OK just as they reckon their own sense of humour is normal and that their standard of driving is above average.  ok2

O0 but my reversing is attrocious and, as demonstrated above, I can get the old humour a bit wrong occasionaly.
On the other hand I am slow to anger, generally kind, and care about people so on balance I'm doing ok  O0

Having been away from the great Mayhem for a week building time machines and painting robot dogs blue, I was directed towards this thread by the original troublemaker ( you know who you are ok2 ). My thoughts.....these mayhem types dont arf make some good points.
Whatever members views are on the subject, they have been made in an informed and reasonable ( honestly!! ) way. Thank god for freedom of speech, keep it 'rules lite' and trust those involved, like Lord of the Flies, that worked out fine in the end :}
Anyway, Pies. Best pork pies I ever had were served at The Still and West Public House at Old Portsmouth in 1982. Watching the reserve fleet of Tribal Class Frigates coming in and out of Pompey harbour defending us against the might of the Soviet Navy, while tucking into a locally made pork pie, made me proud to be British.....best of times :-)

Here are a couple of reviews

McDonald’s bacon-potato pie definitely breaks from tradition. Bits of bacon are suspended in a gooey substrate that is reminiscent of potatoes but not quite there.

Via http://www.divinecaroline.com/22245/102833-strange-mcdonald-s-menu-items-world#ixzz22xcB7vgF

It's gross and good at the same time. Think greasy mashed potatoes with limp ham-like bacon and you'll be on the right track. My stomach was not on the right track after eating it. You could say that it Ran-ran-ruined my appetite. Despite the stomach pain and grossness, I've found myself daydreaming of another mushy mouthful of this strange side item since returning from Japan.

That is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a pie. What, if anything, do the Japanese know about pie?

I have a rule for cricket
It may only be watched on a village green whilst hoding a proper pint - that makes it a cultural event and I have not then encountered a sporting event.
