A pie is also a handy snack to take to the lake, no messing about trying to hold a butty together, contained in a robust pastry case and can be eaten with one hand, leaving the other free to steer the boat.

When slightly warm, the pastry retains an oven fresh crispyness, we are not talking hot here, merely warm. on occasions, by way of a change, one also likes to sink ones gnashers into a Dockyard Tortoise, these are at their best when piping hot, and therefore suitable sustenance for cold days.....
