Has anyone else noticed that when the soaps finish on TV, usually around 8.30pm the on line users on this forum rises dramatically ?  %) :o :D :embarrassed: {-) {-) {-)

No longer watch them, Corrie went down hill when Annie Walker, Stan and Hilda and Eddie Yates left....

The name soaps is derived from 'kitchen sink drama'
Personally I think they should be called 'Beers' as
90% of the drama seems to be in the 'Local'  O0 O0 O0

?  I always understood it to be short for 'soap opera' - which was a derogatory term used for the daytime serials sponsored by the big cleaning companies during the early days of US television. Proctor and Gamble and Lever used to put these on for housewives, and add lots of product advertising in the intervals....
