Hmm he looks kind of creepy in some of his ads!  They might be brilliant but comes across a bit strange.

oooooooooooooooh, ...[not intended to breach MBM Rules about commenting on e-bay Postings]

Is that not expensive for a glass hull, a bag of brass bits  & a bunch of chopsticks?......[although naturally a beautiful Lady John vessel   if completed in order with the instructions]

I could imagine sale of some $6K when completed with a quality stream plant

Or are my estimates needing revision?

Difficult to tell as the manufacturers web site doesn't give any prices for their kits. These are only available to order and are only produced once ordered.

Auction ended now, no bids.  See if it gets re-posted at a more realistic price.  One thing I will say about  John is that the kit I bought from him a few years back came with so much wood, in strip and planks that I could have built the model three times over.  Anyone want to buy some lime,  mahogany, maple or walnut ?

cos you came over all unnecessarily abusive for no apparent reason, the seller of the kit may have an unrealistic idea of the items worth but thats where it should end . No need for the insults.

Having googled the brand it is a very prestigious made to order high spec kit. If it were my kind of model I'd be very happy if I got it for the starting price.

If he had chucked in the Richmond steam engine and boiler and accessories in the price I would have gone for it.

Worth a look, but be quick! Appears to be fitted with linear servos I've never seen before:

Edit: and the rest of the control gear too!

The boat is definitely late 60's  but it is well worth it for the gear inside. History, what's not to like about linear servos... :-))

Re EBay model, servos are the type that was supplied with "Sprengbrook" RC gear, not sure about the receiver though?
Powerful beasts but their spring clip mounting could allow them to move, experience with one connected to to a powerboats rudder!
