Hi, that Hitec Ranger 3 was not a bad buy.  I use one on a yacht I have, the 3rd ch. is on the right so my thumb can flick it across easily. The Tx will run most 5 and 6 ch rx's which is what I use.

I have a brand new Hitec ranger 2 in it's box waiting for a yacht but that has the 3rd. ch on the left in the form of a knob.  (22 years old)

Don't make em like they used to!

Hi all just seen this on ebay.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283917409982?ul_noapp=true

It is a finished Billing Mary Ann fishing boat, a very clinical one, the seller has not included all the gear because it looked nicer like this all for only 300!  Like a white trawl winch!  Not sure which planet he is on.  I bought a better made one for 50 2 weeks ago and am converting it to RC.
In doing so I noticed the fewer brass fittings that there were compared to the old ones.  Even the trawl winch is partly wood now and the trawl board supports are laser cut wood.  That is apart from the plastic.

I have an old fittings kit for the Mary Ann and am raiding that.  All coming along well now.
regards
Roy

Times change, I sold my Model Boats review model Imara in the early 1990s as it was just too big to keep. Richard Howard offered me 800 for it but it fetched 1200 at Christies which is equivalent to around 2,400 now.

Somebody obviously thought so, I sometimes wonder what happened to it.

If you like plastic someone desires an italeri plastic PT boat kit conversion valued at 600 on Ebay at the moment. Clearly priced not to sell but to explain to the other half " well... I did try"
