I covered my hull in epoxy resin and fiberglass.

Then lots of sanding, and a bit of fill and epoxy.

Then primer.

 :-))

this stuff seems better than the old blue foam we used for aircraft 15 years ago . back the once cut and sanded to shape we used to cover it with a coat of 50/50 water and pva and layer in toilet tissue. sand lightly and redo about 4/5 times. keep sanding lightly between coats. spray with high build primer. rub back until you have a sooth base then coat with light dust coats of the colour finish.you want. once final colour has been achieved seal with the varnish of choice.

Klunk`s version but a bit tougher is to use ordinary brown wrapping paper, gives an egg-shell type finish to hulls etc.   The brown paper shrinks just like tissue.

continued, it is important to soak the brown paper with plain water first, let it sit for 10 minutes them apply 50/50 mix to both the paper and the foam.

..continued,   The brown paper will shrink when dry, sand high spots and recoat, repeat till good finish acquired. This barrier will take any paint or resin.
