new boy
« on: August 11, 2012, 06:07:17 pm »

Hello out there
I thought as I`m new to this site I had better introduce my self.
My name is Jim Free and I have been competition model boating since 1964 (yes I`m one of your more mature model boaters).
My main obsession is with tethered hydroplanes with which I hold four separate British class speed records and in 2005 I was lucky enough to be World Champion in class B1 tethered hydroplanes.
I hope by joining this forum I can help any one that might be interested in this type of craft

Hi Jim and welcome to the Forum.

We've tethered you near the Bar where most of the members will be queuing up to get you a pint.

Some pictures of your craft would be most welcome. Come on in and enjoy yourself.

regards

Ken

Welcome Jim, a legend in your own lifetime.   Show us some of your machines, well they are boats in a way but speed on water is a whole different world.  Pictures please. Links to videos too.

Hello Mr Arrow 5
I will try to post some pics on the site.
Meanwhile go to YOUTUBE Key in tethered hydroplanes and there is a whole lot of video including one of yours truly running.
