Does anyone know if one of these can be converted, or what they are made of, or anything abut them really.

I believe the plans for Earthrace would be made available for a scale model if you ask nicely. (or offer a donation)

 ;)

Earthrace, the boat, may not exist anymore, but Pete has started a marine conservation not for profit (www.facebook.com/Earthrace) and we need all the money we can get to do our work...

I'm not sure how detailed the plans are that are needed to build an RC boat like Earthrace, but Pete has never had a problem in the past of sending a simple CAD pdf page of the design to people who genuinely want to build a small replica for their own use.

Send an email to info@earthraceconservation.org (and if you want to make a small donation via the facebook page above, then by all means do!).

When your models are finished, send us pictures too!

Converted in the sense of stripping out the hardware and replacing with decent stuff and whether it would run ok.

The real things sat on the sea bed in the antarctic, guess that's what happens when you mix the sea shepherds and the Japanese whaling fleet...

Would certainly make for an interesting model.
