what brushless motor ????
« on: August 15, 2012, 12:00:28 pm »

i own a joysway super mono x brushless boat , it currently has a 3300kv outrunner motor and i was wondering what would be a good upgrade , its only a small motor and dont know what size it is

i was thinking of changing it for a inrunner motor if it will fit on the motor mount thats already in it or would it be best to stick to a outrunner ???

cheers guys

Outrunners have more power, main advantage to inrunners is theyre easier to water cool but i have to say i love the sound of outrunners, what size is the boat how many cells do you want to run ?.

Internal rotation of the brushless motor permanent strong magnets, magnet peripheral wound coil, the periphery of the current flowing through the coil generates a strong magnetic field, with the internal magnet force, thereby bringing the high-speed rotation of the motor.

Hi love oat
If this where my boat I would leave the ourunner motor and concentrate on a decent sharpened and balanced prop, maybe octura if not already done.
Just my take on things, best of luck.

The original motor looks like a 28mm one.
Power upgrade Turnigy 2836-3700kv 700watts runs on either 3S or 4S batteries.
Requires a 35A ESC but use a Hobbyking 60A ESC 2-4S battery (code HK-60A)(91 grams).
Prop 32mm x 1.4 pitch from the Hobbyking F3 sprint outboard.
I am running this set on a 600mm deep vee and its insanely fast!!!
