Bismarck and Nelson.
« on: April 29, 2007, 02:33:06 pm »

Just a taster of a few pictures to come.
Although the picture would indicate that Nelson is the larger of the 2 the Bismarck is actually a few inches longer.
'twas a gloomy day at Tynemouth today (Sunday 29th April) so brightness and contrast was a problem.
Brian_c and me will be combining our best efforts soonest. Hope you like this one though. BY

Very nice.

Very realistic, I think the light helps this appearance of realism.

Superb models. But they don't look quite to the same scale otherwise Nelson would be quite a bit shorter than Bismark which was around 150 feet longer.

Bored? Those are fantastic!
Any shots with people standing next to them so we can get a true idea of the size of these things?

hi colin, the pics are decieving, nelson is 7ft 5 inches and bismark is 8ft 7 inches and both 96th scale.       they may look close together in the pics but they are over 3ft apart which gives nelson the appearance of being larger when in the forground  ;)

Thanks for the info Brian. They make a wonderful sight together. I've always liked the Nelson class.

Love the place...but check out the spelling. Amazing how so many janners think geordies are from another part of the South-West...especially if they can't spell!
