Hello all, rejoining the fun
« on: August 27, 2012, 06:47:52 pm »

Hello to all, Just doing the polite thing and doing the quick intro.
Roger here, from way down under (NZ).
Been modelling in one form or another for way too long now (static and RC, in various genres).
Still in the planning phase for my not too distant boat build, or more precisely - still deciding what to build and which scale, but it will definitely be something either Russian or French from the late 1800's - early 1900's  %% (shortlist is down to a dozen or so  :embarrassed:).
At the same time I'm sort of planning for future build's so the scale factor is something I'm carefully considering  ;).
Expect some "unusual" questions in the near future  %).
Hope everyone's projects are going as planned and the glue is drying in the right places  :-)).

Hi Turtle & welcome to the madhouse. Good to have another one into the more 'colourful' period of ship design. There were certainly some questionable bits of naval architecture around then and it's often been hard to identify what some of the fittings do :-))

Cheers for the welcome.
Was here previously before the "hiccup" with memberships, but have been sidetracked with other activities till now, plus thought I'd better pull finger and build something before it's too late.
Tony - know what you mean - gave you a few bit's of info on your 'Pointy thing' question  ;) (was under feinwerkbau then), I'll be posting a Q in the Warship R&D that might get the grey matter a workout  {-).
