Anyone seen this gadget
« on: August 28, 2012, 03:09:53 am »

Has anyone seen or know about this 'gadget'.

Whilst it is plane related, like most things, perhaps it could have some boating application also, if I can work out what it is. {:-{ {:-{

Are they saying you don't need a receiver as the 'gadget' can bind with any transmitter.

I've seen them on a couple of websites. I believe it's basically it's a 2.4ghz module system like a Corona, FrSky or whatever and plugs into the module socket on a suitable radio - or as the blurb says, requires an adapter cable. It seems a number of places are offering RTF models that have the Anylink receiver built in. I have no idea what the 2.4Ghz signal type is - FASST, FHSS, AFHSS, DSSS. although that page did mention only 1000ft - which isn't a lot for a plane... So maybe it's a parkflyer only sort of thing.

Applicable to boats? Presumably, as long as one can buy the receivers somewhere.

It plugs into the trainer socket on your existing TX using a seperately supplied cable and is only compatible with their range of receivers

Range is pretty poor but as you can see in the link raaartygunner posted they are aimed more at small indoor and parkflyer aircraft

Link to the manufacturers webside

I have the fokker DR1 model

Its good fun to fly on a still day outside.

Would I buy one of these systems for boat use? - No... there are far better/suitable options available at a similar price
