New fortnightly collection
« on: August 30, 2012, 07:28:23 pm »

Noticed an advert for a new fortnightly collection of 1/72 scale diecast helicopters website does say how long it goes on for but you get a free binder every 16 issues.

http://helicopter-magazine.com/

I have had a quick count of the helicopters I can think of and have come with around 60 take into account variants of  the same type, but I'm not going to list them here.

Ya know,

These things have a habbit of stopping mid way through the collection due to lack of demand/interest - which then leaves those who wanted to complete the collection angry, ripped off and mentally scarred so as to not want another collection...

The only mag at the moment that i know has guaranteed to have all the collection in stock and will complete it to all , is the james bond aston martin thing...

These little collections are fun and exciting for many and i indeed have a huge collection of military aircraft things (that used to be out when i was a kid), however the price is astronomical.

Then there's the issue of 'her indoors', saying your cluttering the house with the numerous little models - and lets face it, it is a real issue of where to present these things as they would need a special glass enclosed shelf system...

I'll look out for them in the news agent and see what the quality is like. wouldn't mind a yellow sea king.

Deagostini seem to be quite good... all of the partworks I have done through them have followed through to completion.  Hopefully tho I'm not jinxing the HMS victory I'm collecting lol

Yeah hopefully not.  :-))

Don't get me wrong, i wouldnt mind having a bash at a collection and build something, however i just cant justify the cost of it.

Hope to see your build on here (if its not already)

Funny you should say that, a re-run of a Dolls house mag is giving away in its first edition - - - -  a Display cabinet.   :-))

Bought the first issue today Black Hawk.
Not fully diecast, underside plastic, tail is sparate part and doesn't fit right, and rotor hub is hard to turn.
But not bad for £3, will get the seaking to compere it the corgi one I have.
