Finished product, I could have cleaned up the solder a bit more but I thought it best to leave a fair bit of body for strength.

You know what they say about a mans hands Brian, big hands mean big tugboats :)
Anyway here is a shot of the kickplate/rudder support showing the way the tab slots into the skeg making for easy rudder removal if I should ever have to.

The whole family is down with swine flu at the moment but after a week of feeling crappy I managed to knock out a deck template and the first half of the wheelhouse.

If its all getting boring do tell me

Not boring to me. Love your work. Wish we were closer, so I could see it in person  :-) . Hope all are feeling better. I may have missed it, what scale, and what are the dimensions of this tug?

Just saw your comment Mark, it's 1:12 scale and ends up 1 metre long.

Phill...all of that laser cut ply appear to assemble very neatly :-))

Tell us...where did you get the blue plastic clamps from? .... Derek

Hi Jason, Ill see what I can do for you, would you like to PM me your email.
Derek, funny story about those clamps, when I had the shop a customer that built plastic kits asked if we could find and order these blue plastic clamps, we made a few calls, found the wholesaler, signed up with them, made up an order to meet their minimum quantity requirements and waited for them to turn up, box turns up, everything else was in there but the clamps, turns out they went straight to backorder so we rang the customer and told the guy they were about 4months away and if they could get them elsewhere to go for it, the customer was quite happy to wait so we let the order stand, he would come in about once a week just to enquire and always seemed happy when he left, anyway, 4 months passed, the clamps turned up, we rang him and he abused us for taking so long and told us to stick em so they sat on the shelf until we closed so that's how they wound up in my workshop, and I am so glad he backed out because they are sooooo handy :)

Should have added that the clamps should be available from any hobby shop in Aus (if in stock at the wholesalers)

A few more bits drawn up and cut out today, roof with locating lugs and holes for mast & fittings, wheelhouse wings, exhaust housing sides (not sure how to do the half round just yet) and top of the lower half or engine room.

This is handy, turns out a porthole I have a mold for is the perfect size for this model.
