Programming ESC problem!
« on: September 04, 2012, 09:27:15 pm »

Hi all

I have just got all the parts that i needed for my boat (thanks to 'kinmel' for the receiver, last part i needed) now i am having a problem with setting up the ESC. At the moment the throttle is reversed but when i change it on the transmitter i get no change. I am using a Turnigy system (v2)
Can anyone help with this one?

I am using a Turnigy 9x Tx with a Turnigy V2 Rx and the ESC is a Turbojet 100a water cooled, the Tx works fine with my helicopter.

What do you mean by "throttle is reversed"? Does the motor only speed up when moving the stick from up to down position or does the motor turn the wrong way round? In first case reversing the channel on your TX should help, in the second case changing two of the three motor connections should work.

Even though you've fixed yourself... we still charging you a call out fee!

Hi all

For this motor http://www.fxmodelrc.com/Moteur-Brushless-500MX-1600KV-Align/ what would the best set up be on the ESC?

The settings that im unsure about are:
  Timing Mode Setting
1: For 2-4 pole inrunner motors
2: For 6-8 pole motors
3: For 10-14 pole outrunner motors
4: For 10-14 pole high-RPM outrunner motors

  Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Setting
1: For low RPM and low pole count motors
2: For most out runner motors

Im going to set the other settings to 6s lipo, Auto Throttle Range, Soft Start, Soft Brake, Hard Cutoff.
Please let me know what you think.

Should I go for 10-14 pole outrunner or 10-14 pole high RPM outrunner?
The PWM im going to put as most outrunner motors.
