Hello from a New Boy
« on: September 05, 2012, 11:16:25 am »

I'm not sure about new boy, being 70 years of age, but very new to this site, and pretty new to model boat building.  I used to build and fly rc scale and fun air craft.  But, as many know, in a fraction of a second months of work (and money) ends up in a plastic bin liner. <:( Boats, at least the ones I will be building, are more sedate but still offer the same challenges.

Currently i'm finishing off a Billings FD10 Yawl.  The next project is a Mountfleet Models Highlander.

This will be my first major scale model boating build and ANY INPUT WILL BE WELCOME.

Billy Boy  :-)

Hello and welcome, and with those sorts of experiences with model aircraft, it may be wise to find a shallow lake, just in case ...  :D .....  :-))

Welcome aboard Billy Boy!   :-)

Lunch at 12:30. Mark your own items in the communal fridge!

Yes, RC planes and bin bags aften seem to be mentioned in the same sentence!
Nothing like the trill of flying a model aeroplane.... or the abject humiliation of "planting" one!

I can't help you with the Billing Yawl but I did build a Highlander, great kit I thought.   :-))
