All the 808cams use the same case, the only way you can tell what version you have is when you record some footage. That's why it's important to purchase the camera from the vendor I specified.
I think the Kinder egg capsules will be a bit small for the cams. The short but fat shape of the 808 isn't ideal for constructing an enclosure. With the ones I made, I did my best to make one that was as streamlined as possible, as past experience with running actioncams showed that the handling of smaller boats was upset considerably when piggybacking one.
Literature says that an aspect ratio of about 6-7:1 is optimum. Needing an enclosure of about 35mm diameter, that would have dictated a length of at least 210mm (over 8") long!! Some other reference material suggest an optimum ratio of 4-5:1. That gave an enclosure length of 140mm, still larger than what I had hoped for, but as the front was truncated by the front lens, that sounded more manageable. The enclosures I made ended up with a slightly stubbier nose than first built. I had to create a larger window as I noticed vignetting when using the HD 808, which has a much wider aspect ratio than the SD 808's.
There is sufficient space inside the pod for add-on lenses, although if using the HD 808, I find the standard FOV is wide enough.
