On my way to a fortune...
« on: September 24, 2012, 01:23:46 pm »

This is a new one to my spam box..

FROM THE DESK OF BARRISTER PHIBOON TEERUK,
TEERUK & ASSOCIATE CHAMBERS,
680 RAMA I RD., SIAM CENTER BUILDING, BANGKOK 10160 THAILAND.

Dear Friend,

Please kindly accept my apology for sending unsolicited mail to you; I believe you are a highly respected personality considering the fact that I sourced your profile from a human resource database. Though, I do not know what extent you are familiar with events.

Well, I am Barrister Phiboon Teeruk, a Solicitor. I am a Personal Attorney to Mr. Jeffrey Brown who used to work with Seamark Company Limited. On 21st of April 2007, his wife and their three children were involved in a car accident along Pattaya Express-Way; unfortunately, they all lost their lives in the event of the accident.

Since then I have made several enquires to Embassies to locate any of my Client's relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful. After these several unsuccessful attempts, I decided to trace his relatives over the Internet to locate any member of his family but to no avail.

I contacted you to assist in repatriating the money left behind by my Client in a Finance Company, particularly, the finance house where the deceased deposited $10.5Million (Ten million five hundred united states dollars). Consequently, this finance house issued me a notice to provide the next of Kin to claim the $10.5Million (Ten million five hundred united states dollars) in their custody within the next twenty-six official working days.

Since, I am unable to locate the relatives for over 5 years now, I seek your consent to present you as the next of Kin of the deceased, to claim the fund as next of Kin to my late Client Mr. Jeffrey Brown.
Upon receipt of the fund, I will come over to your country to meet with you for the disbursement of the fund, and we will share the money in this order; 70% will be for me and 30% will be for you.

I have all the necessary legal documents that will back our claim and we will work with the finance house to the successful end of this transaction.

All I require is your honest co-operation to enable us finalized this deal.
I guarantee that this will be executed under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law.

"I needed you as a next of Kin to inherit these funds".

Best regards.
Barrister Phiboon Teeruk (Esq).

Where ever did he get the idea you are a "highly respected personality"  - that alone makes it sound just a tad iffy.

If you read it carefully you realise that if this chump was serious he was asking you to help him perpatrate a multi-million pound fraud.  It begs the saying that "you can't cheat an honest man"!

It is interesting to note that these scams are specifically designed to sound 'iffy'.

They are designed to filter out victims so that only the most gullible and least well-informed people will respond to them, thus lowering the amount of nugatory work the scammer has to undertake.

TLB, once you collect your 3 plus million US$, come on over to Washington, USA and I'll sell you a nice bridge with a great view.  A bargain at only $2.99 million.  It's named Deception Pass Bridge.    :o ;D

SOLD!! to the man with $2 million burning a hole in his pocket.  I will even discount the Deception Pass bridge to $1.99 million if it's paid for in cash, US$ only.
