DIY Vent Valves
« on: September 11, 2012, 03:06:59 am »

For those who employ homemade or DIY  gas/compressed air-based ballast sytem on their boats. Can you post photos of your vent valve assembly and how it's operated. Want to try and build one but I'm a bit short on ideas how to. Thank you.

I don't use compressed air in my ballast systems but a frequently used method is a slightly modified car tyre valve (Schrader valve, I think.)

The servo is arranged to press the "pip."

* Just reading this again I see that you are asking about vent valves. I have only seen Schraders used as inlet valves. Sorry.
