Hi Mike (Corposant) lovely meeting you and Anne also!  Unfortunately your photo doesn't show the incredible engineering and working detail that you have incorporated in your model - superb. Kind regards, Tony. (Not Bob but I answer to most things these days!)  :-))

Tony

I'm so sorry! :embarrassed: Another senior moment - they're coming thick and fast these days! Thank you for your comment about my engineering - one day (senior moments permitting!) my modelling skills will be up to your standard!

Regards,

On behalf of the Peterborough Area Model Boat Club contingent, a big thank you to Martin and family and everyone who helped to make the weekend so enjoyable. We don't under estimate how much time and effort it took to organise.  A big thank you, also, to all members of the Wicksteed Park Model Boat Club for hosting the Mayhem weekend, once again, and for making everyone feel so welcome. This one will take some beating !!

Well what a fantastic weekend! :}
After Saturday I couldn't believe that Sunday could be better, how wrong was I!
Hello to Dodes and Shipmate60, its becoming an annual meeting for us! Love the little HMS Kent that Dodes gave me- its going pride of place next to the model when its finished. (fingers crossed! :-)) )

Many thanks to Martin for allowing us to make fun of his aztec shirt, but seriously, thank you Martin without you we wouldn't have had the show, we all look forward to the next one.

A big thank you to everyone who was there in body, and in spirit. (Stavros certainly looked like he was out of his body on the Sunday morning after the Scottish boys had finished with him and Phil!!!)

A big thank you to all who bought tombola tickets, I know towards the end Klunk was desperate to win that Tamiya King George V kit!!!

And another big thank you to the mayhemers who donated money towards the clean up of the lake, Paul (aka Chuffy) and WPMBC are very grateful for your donations.

And here as promised to Martin are the warship pictures I took of the fleet on Sunday... enjoy and heres to next year! :-)) ;)

Well, the Scottish boys (Colin, Brian, Dave and Ron)  arrived home safely around 5pm after the best Mayhem weekend ever.
We would like to thank Martin and all the hard working guy`s who made this weekend such a great success, a big "WELL DONE" to you all :-))
Also, to all our old friends (and new), a big thank you, for once again making us so welcome.
The sailing was great, the weather fantastic, but the company was even better, the BBQ was a riot as usual, with the wee drinkies flowing free.
Stav looked a little the worst for wear by the end of the night, but he and Kelly do have a lot to celebrate.
Phil and Steph were fantastic as usual, a big thank you to you both, for letting us commandeer your lovely caravan, to carry on having a laugh into the wee small hours.
After the whooping Steph gave Phil at the straight running and of course winning a Trophy  (did you know that Phil didn't win one, by the way %) ) we had a great time relentlessly reminding him of the fact {-) {-) {-) {-) . Phil of course, took it all in good stead.
It was a shame some of our old friends couldn't make it, but look forward to meeting you all again at the next Mayhem bash. :-))
We`re looking forward the next one already ok2

Just a quick note to thank you all for your kindness and hospitality over the Wicksteed weekend. As a Mayhem event newbie I had no idea what to expect, but thought the event was supremely well organised. Martin, his family, Dave and Kelly, "steamboat" Phil and his wife - were but a few of the folks who worked really hard to make the event the success it was.

Thanks also for the BBQ invite, an endless supply of food and drink, and also to the generosity of the Scottish contingent for the lovely 18 year old malt whisky too!

I have to admit, when I arrived on Friday, pitching my tent in a howling force 4 gale, I did have a "what the heck am I doing here" moment, but Saturday and Sunday saw fantastic weather, and I met some old chums and made some new friends also.

I am sure I have missed many people off the thank you list, but I really had a great time and the whole event was over all too quickly. Roll on next year.

Baloo might also like to know that the Waveney lifeboat I bought from him has now been ballasted and as had all the electrics added (thanks to Ron Dean for these and to Andy at Models by Design for the fenders and electrical hook up) and 44-021 had her first test-sailing yesterday too!

Following a fantastic Mayhem at Wicksteed the following highly researched scientific facts can be revealed:

1. Crap weather on a Friday is a sign of good times to come.
2. Martins shirts are brighter than the sun.
3. Mrs Davis makes a mean cup of tea.
4. Debbs cakes are still the best.
5. Being male and wearing rubber does not guarantee a prize.
6. Being an expectant father makes you design strange craft.
7. and finally ..... if you want good weather at your event then ask Guy Bagley to stay away!

Can we have more of the same in 2014 ...... loved it.
