Cheers Nick.
I have to say it looks a bit thin both on the boat side and punters.

Those pictures were taken first thing in the morning before it had really got going!

Well BBQ is nearly finished, our Scottish contingent conned us all into cooking their food and repaid the debt with 18 year old laphroag whisky and another bottle t,at I haven't had a chance to sample, Phil is suffering after eating Encino pepper sauce and scotch bonnet sauce together! That does not bode well for the morning to those not present on Sat, you have missed a great days

Well we're home too  now, bellies full of very nice fish and chips from  Fishers in Hampton, (other brands and take away meals are also available!)

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY!

I seemed to spend most of the time chatting about the weather, it seemed to be preoccupying
everybody's mind and we all just looked really puzzled all day!
'What that bright yellow ball in the sky?'
'Have we got the wrong weekend?'
'I don't get it what kind of dry, rain is this?'
'Have we all died and gone to heaven?'

Again a BIG thank you to the Wicksteed Park MBC, lake look wonderful and water almost crystal clear! Special name check for Steve, Paul, Nick, Nigel, Brian, Phil, Steph, Stavros, Kelly, JayDee, Alan, Dee, Chris, Doug, Andy, Ron.... and the other that I've neglected. Enjoy the beautiful evening everyone.

These photos will emphasize what you missed....
But the weatherman says even better forecast for tomorrow!

Despite the chairman (Steamboatphil) doing the dirty on the apprentice, (Steph') by moving the straight running markers as far away as he could AND narrowing the gate to boot!  %) :o   like all good pupils though Steph' (using the boat she built herself )took up the gauntlet and showed the master how it's done ............... watch this for a straight ten!!   P.S. Steph', if you let the paint on the deck dry before fitting and painting the superstructure  :}  they do come apart much easier!!  {-) {-) {-)  x

Happy am I! Thanks for capturing the moment. Though lovely boat did score more times than Phil likes to admit.
Ps top tip noted. I'm sure it's not a good idea to have to use a screwdriver every time you need to change a battery.
Also thanks for the cake and the bread pudding tips Debbie! xx
What a good day all round

A perfect sailing day indeed.  Sorry, but after preping the boat last night after a late shift at work I think I have somehow got silicone grease in the motors. By about 2 am I became resigned that I was not not going to fix it that night.  If I can get it going this morning I may head off for a PM visit, otherwise looking forward to seeing all your photos.

Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is up nice and early and ready for the sunny day ahead.
It was nice to see you all yesterday. The weather was lovely and the atmosphere was brilliant.
A Team Boatyard have HMS Daring (type 45) there this weekend after her long and successful sail up and down the
non tidal section of the River Thames. A couple of war wounds, nothing a little make up can't fix.
Thank you to Mrs and Miss Mayhem for supplying all of us thirsty lot with tea and coffee. You both worked so hard.
The weather looks brilliant for today. Well worth a trip.
Have a brilliant day today and don't get sun stroke.
See you all soon.
Debs xx

Anne and I had a great day at Wicksteed yesterday - so, many thanks to Martin, WPMBC and all the helpers who made it possible and so successful. They did a great job with the weather too!

Phil certainly has a challenge on his hands with Steph’s achievement! A joy to watch - and so were all the other models.

Thanks to Ken for recommending a trial of the puffer on a wider stretch of water than the bathtub. After a patient wait to discover the availability of Channel 52 (I only have the one pair of crystals!), she was committed to the water. The result was that she still showed no sign of responding to the rudder when going astern. Apart from that, all was well and the unpainted woodwork stayed dry! I was also encouraged by several people assuring me that I am not alone with the problem.

We were very grateful to Colin and Bob tt1 for sharing their table space with us. Anne (who is especially fond of lifeboats) was particularly taken with the resuscitation instructions inside the cabin of Bob’s Alice Upjohn!
