Following a fantastic Mayhem at Wicksteed the following highly researched scientific facts can be revealed:

1. 'rubbish' weather on a Friday is a sign of good times to come.
2. Martins shirts are brighter than the sun.
3. Mrs Davis makes a mean cup of tea.
4. Debbs cakes are still the best.
5. Being male and wearing rubber does not guarantee a prize.
6. Being an expectant father makes you design strange craft.
7. and finally ..... if you want good weather at your event then ask Guy Bagley to stay away!

Can we have more of the same in 2014 ...... loved it.

Steve Dean

Guy Bagley visits the Alfold Charity Model Boat Show the following weekend to dry out all his equipment, as he did not attend this year he can consentrate on sailing more at Alfold this year. Alan

well said Mr C..... and the fact i did not attent was due to the fact i spent most of my time  in A and E with my boy who has broken his arm-

niceone son -just in time for alfold !!!

but dont worry even in a plastercast he can still wriggle his thumbs, so we are still all ok  for the weekend get the transmitters out !

Should have made a limb immobiliser out of Lego
(Other blocks are available %%)
Took him to Wicky and the Laphroaig would have
anaethsetised him until Monday.
Only in jest.
I remember going to the Grammar School for the first term
with my arm in plaster.

I didn't make it this year. i would like to take some of the blame of Guy. (my mate).
Seems if there is no petrol at the event then the sun comes out to play O0
I'm glad it all went well and much fun was had. I missed out but maybe next year. Anyway the laws of average says you have to get one dry show at some point, and this was the year.

Hello to Harvey Bagley ......... sorry to hear about your arm young man. Look on the bright side ..... when people asks if it hurts when you are at Alfold this coming weekend, just tell them that an ice cream makes the pain go away. No doubt Kim Belcher will want to take your photo, holding a transmitter with your arm in plaster ...... well tell him it will cost him a choc-ice, two cheese burgers and a large can of pop!

Enjoy yourself.  :-))

Steve.

A few afterthoughts and thanks from last weeks wonderful Weekend of Mayhem.

What brilliant and unexpected weather, phew!
Thanks to everyone that turned up with ... or without a boat!
Mrs Mayhem, Little miss Mayhem & Surly Asked Son - thanks for you effort guys!
JayDee kept me wonderfully entertained with stories, anecdotes and great on-liners!
Phil and Stavros for everything, particularly holding down the Marquee on Friday...
.... when we thought we about to all fly off and meet the Wizard of Oz face to face!
Steph & Kelly for letting the boys out to play.
The Scottish contingent - irrepressible humour and enthusiasm.
Klunck for his first Human ferry across the lake.
Alfie (the dog) recognising Little miss Gina after meeting her once last year!!
The traders for turning up, not expecting to make a fortune but coming anyway!
Baloo for all the cakes on Saturday.
The Tombola SOLD OUT completely!
Wicksteed Park trustees & staff for being very helpful and cooperative.
Wicksteed MBC for clearing the lake and getting everything ready.
Maureen for keeping the Wicksteed club boys in-line and running a very successful Tombola!
- all our friends that couldn't make it this year -
 - I'll keep adding to the list as it comes back to me!

My favourite 'Boat of the day', Saturday was Mark Thatcher's Katherine.
Just happily minding it's own business, ignoring everybody else dashing about but
steadily plying it's own way...

Sundays 'Boats of the day' were Jaydee's J-class yacht.
Stately and majestic every time.

... whathisnames whatdoyamacallit ( detail to be updated )
It was on the water more than off!

Steph's world class straight runner (eat you heart out Phil!)

Surprise boat of the weekend was a late comer, didn't get a name but he brought along a little, noisy 'ebay' boat, in the style of a Riva Aquarama. It just kept going & going & going & going & going long after all 'ebay' boats should have stopped or even burnt out! He must have got 2 hours running out of that thing!  :o

... where a damn picture?
