Well I have to say in the 70s Freebird was, and still is, probably my own most hated piece of self indulgent pretentious overlong repetive boring drivel.  I used to have a habit of walking past the Juke Box in the Mighty Fine and kicking it when it was on hoping to make it skip to the end.  Not that there ever seemed to be an end.  It droned on and on for ever so it seemed.  But each to their own.

I knew it wouldn't last long before we couldn't play nicely.........now chill out.......respect the views of others without being nasty and enjoy some chillax music........go on........you know it makes sense........

apologies neil and hawkeye.  Not meant that post to sound 'not nice' just describing my dislike of the song.  But I did try to recognise that this was just my opinion by adding each to their own.  So no offence was intended.  I recognise that much of musical 'taste' is not to many many others music for pleasure as they see it - and as my wife has pointed out to me all the time over the last 30 years!!.

Now I agree with that one Hawkeye.  But many others covered it very badly.  Including one Gary Glitter!!

... ok, if anyone is near my age, this one might mean something!!! {-) It was - and still is as far as I am concerned - one of the best... and Heart of Glass, etc., etc... Oh, I might mention briefly, I did a bit of CJ work for a few years at that time, and, wow, was it fun when the music was good! :-) It was the time, it was the era, and little has happened since... has it? Correct me if I am wrong??? Regards, Bernard
