Ah yes, the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver, reminds me of a dalliance I once had with a young lady when I lived in Bristol. Saw them quite a few times, here's another from the Canvey Island/Essex Rock era, The Kursaal Flyers, loved Paul Shuttleworths wide boy image......

Dear All,

Another classic which was also produced during the 60's and 70's, but put up the original.

Two further Harry Belfonte - enough for now I think, but they are all at least maritime songs! Bernard

This was voted the seventh greatest song lyrics of all time in a BBC poll in 2002. And it should have been the winner without a doubt.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0v38af7DXv0

For those not familar with this much loved but often overlooked treasure and genius of British Music, he can be caught up with in Bristol this Saturday with Wild Willy, and his Blockbuster Movie Otway The Movie has its World Premier at the Leicester Square Odeon on 7th October.  Both his biographies were classic best sellers, (the first topped the non fiction charts believe it or not) and hopefully the movie will also be a classic.

Saw them in their early days in the summer of 72 at Newcastle City Hall supported by Blackfoot Sue who had a hit at the time of Standing In the Road.  Wasnt exactly a polished performance shall I say?  A bit all over the place as I recall but still enjoyable before they went onto greater things.

Dear Nick,

I must leave this aspect to Kenny to decide, since so many Tracks of that period became Classics... this I believe is one... apart and inclusive of Wandering Star and the others......
