THV BEACON

I was given a copy of model shipwrights by a friend ,In the book was a copy of a plan for THV Beacon Thats were the story starts, Beacon is my first attempt at a plank on frame
model These Photo's are the result, But are a bit dated,AS beacon is now finished. the model is powered by twin motors and props. all so fitted is a smoke generator I have yet to fit
the steam whistle. but that will be done soon

Very nice boat, can't beat a working vessel can you.
I was in your neck of the woods yesterday, at Appleton Thorn doing a bit of Eddie spotting!.

What doe THV stand for? (Sorry I´m German)

Hi guys thanks for the comments, Dave is right THV. stands for trinity house, Which in england looks after lighthouses and navigation buoys around the coast . Same as the
northen lights board dose around Scotland, Beacon is a bouy tender witch was her main job, AS you can see by the bouys being on the fore deck, Not quite a tug,
but she would tow light ships When they need to be change over  :-)

HI all, managed to find the drawing out of model shipwrights of beacon. from this, the next stage was to get drawings if there were any from the national
maritime museum in London, Of witch they had one. I have also obtained a plan of a light ship from trinity house, Witch i will be stating in the next couple of weeks,
so by next years season i should have a lightship to tow with beacon   :-))

What a cracking couple of days of sunshine, took Beacon down to the lake,? first time this year
couldn't resit, wife out all afternoon ,sod the garden. :-)) :-))
