it means they liked your video and want to be updated when you post more videos :-))
youtube lets them know rather than you emailing them

Neil,
When you were teaching, you would have had the 'any questions?' moment in the classroom/workshop.
The ones with their hands up were the ones going somewhere.
The others were only along for the ride.
