Hi Ted,

I have Kingston's Mascotte - work in progress!

When I bought mine I was informed by Robin Whitmarsh owner of Kingston Mouldings that the manual (which he had been supplied with) was poor re rigging and that it was his intention to re do. I would suggest you give him a ring, you will find him very helpful.

If it has not been re written working out the rigging of a pilot cutter is not difficult. If you search on google you will find plenty of images of Mascotte and others.

There are also some good books available which I could recommend.

Hope this helps

I have a hull somewhere and the instructions weren't upto much from what i remember i think whoever wrote them was not a sailer as the terminology and rigging ideas seemed wrong as i remember, another one to dig out and sell maybe.

HI Ted
A good book on Pilot cutters is .' The Sailing Pilots of the Bristol Channel ' by Peter j Stuckey . ISBN 1 900178 32 X
Well worth getting hold of acopy ,
Another good book on building scale sailing ships is ' Scale Sailing Models ' by Phillip Vaughan Williams . ISBN 1 900371 20 0
it has some good close ups of a model Pilot Cutter
   Hope this helps  REG

HI Ted
If you put 'Charlotte' in the Yachts and Sail search box there 's a lot on pilot cutters including Popeyes 'SIAN' based on
Chris Brown's 'Cariad' hull , he has made a very good job of it.
I have a 'Cariad' hull half finished in the back of the work shop, I brought it of Chris when he had a stall at Wings and Wheels
in the mid 1990's, I must get round to finishing it  O0

as you say the planks are faired in and they have tried to renovate her near enough as she was built in 1904 i think i will be doing the same, plus its a hell of lot easier than doing all that joggling
