My first model boat and first time on a club forum so I hope both turn out OK.
Some years ago while my son was at university he served on a P2000 called Puncher. So now that I am retired I thought it would be nice to build a model of it. After all, with over 50 years in engineering how hard can it be. ( Hmmm )
It is scratch built using plans MAR 2970 at 1/24 scale and so far looks fairly good, although my son says it seems a bit heavy but neither of us realy knows untill it is finished.
Now the current problem. I am ready to start the stanchions, hand rails and ladders but not sure how to proceed as I want the finshed items to look like stainless steel. If I make them from brass rod and soft solder can they be plated (bright nickel) or is there any way to solder stainless ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have tried to attach a foto but not sure if it worked.
Thanks for a great site
