Uruguayan lifeboat damaged
« on: October 28, 2012, 08:38:58 pm »

Uruguayan lifeboat ADES 16, ex R.N.L.I. Waveney 44-018 'The Scout' got a little bent in September it seems.

Looks like it got washed ashore (along with some other boats) during a heavy storm onto rocks.

There's some other videos on there showing the recovery. They had to drag it up onto the foreshore to be able to get a crane to it to put it on a trailer. The bottom skin doesn't look punctured, but it is badly pushed in around the internal framing. I imagine it could be repaired, but the boat's now 35 years old (they've had it for 15), so I don't know if it would be economically viable...

(Can't find out anything about it on the web, but my Portugese is non-existant)
