Mini Jet drive
« on: October 30, 2012, 09:15:24 am »

Hi there, does any one know where I can get a small water jet unit to put in a Deans Marine PBR ' Canned Heat' I know Graupner do one but it is out of stock at the moment. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Many Thanks,
Nick.

the nqd ones work quite well , they are a copy of those sold by graupner but lack the reversing bucket , the shaft size is also slightly smaller than graupner versions , spare props wernt as readily available when i had mine , although i sold the model on ive still got a spare prop ! jon

Hi Triumphjon, I believe you are wrong. I think KMB make the drives for Graupner. Also if you look on KMB's web site www.jet-drive.de that they sell reversing buckets for some of their drives. I know as I have a pair on one of my boats.
Cheers

Hi folks, many thanks for all the replies, I have had a look at the NQD drives and sent a question to the seller re reversing buckets  but have not had a reply, their delivery time seems to be a bit long (30 days). The Graupner ones will be available again in a couple of weeks from CMB so I will probably go for one of those, they come complete with reversing buckets, and I should just about be able to fit it in the limited space available in the hull with a bit of fettling....
Regards,
Nick. :-)) :-)) :-))

from memory the nqd jet units dont have the pivot moulded to fit a bucket for reverse , they are supplied as forward only with a steering nozzle , they can be made to perform well when the original brushed motor is replaced for a brushless version , when i had mine i ran with the original  brushed 400 sized motor . for the boat im currently biulding ive bought one of the graupner mini drive units as i would like the option of reverse , its also been coupled to a 1050 kv brushless motor , time will tell how it performs
