lifeboat to gunboat build
« on: October 07, 2015, 02:52:22 pm »

being a wargamer first I found this revel lifeboat on ebay and as it was 1/72 scale I though that would make a great patrol boat for our naval games

I have several guns available to me, so after a few minuets building time I managed to convert it into a gunboat with a 20mm oerloiken 20mm on the front and a west german rheinmental 20mm gun on the rear.

I had to add a few more details like the liferaft containers and the gun tub as the revel model has a big opening at the rear for the rib.

all I need to do now is to sort out some crew figs
thanks for looking

I find strange the conversion;

Transform a boat to save the life of people, by boat to kill people

I think most navies do more life-saving than life-ending these days. Long may it continue...

Very nice, has a touch of the Warsaw Pact about it..brick red decks should set it off nicely :-))

Hi Shaun, welcome aboard! The conversion is very tidy indeed and I look forward to seeing it completed.

Your access to model weapons systems is very useful :-))

Probably not that far. I have learnt that the roads around here can be quite slow despite being quieter than down East.

Go on, pop a brown deck on her!
