looking for speedboat-rigger
« on: November 17, 2012, 07:02:15 am »

Dear Ship Modelers,
I already introduced myself and I am very happy to be on this forum. Just watched some pictures of boats built by you and I am not an expert, but I think these look really detailled and realistic. Meanwhile I 'm still wondering what boat to start with. I like speed and in another topice I came across 'rigger' as one of the fastest boats on the planet (and probably the rest of the universe  %) ). My question is, is there any kit of a rigger suited for my 2845/3D Leopard (http://www.leopardhobby.com/product/product_veiws.asp?id=1260&functionID=01020204)? I prefer a kit because my building skills are almost zero... starting from scratch is probably a waste  ;)

Have a look on www.forums.offshoreelectric.com     Quite a list of outrigger kits and manufacturers.   Some German ones include  www.hydromarine.de and www.team-lindenau.de    Mayhem  member Martin#1fan,   has contact with US kit people Zipkits who do a rigger, are you there Martin ?  Big selection from HK on www.Tobsd.com

:-)  Wow... I will give it some thought. Is there also a possibility to do competitions with the mini-trident (http://www.tobsd.com/ViewDetails.aspx?ProductID=136) and would my Leopard Motor fit in?

Personally id go with a deep vee or a cat for your first fast boat but if you really want a rigger probably the best kit you will find for a rigger is the jae riggers from zippkits in the states they hold world records. They come lazer cut and slot together easy, glue using epoxy and seal and thats it,ready to fit out, easy to build and setup too and they come with a 40+ page build manual with setup instructions. The nitro version is even cheaper,id get that one and convert it to electric.
