Traxxas XL-1
« on: November 08, 2012, 07:57:46 pm »

Hello and help, one of my tugs is seriously ill, I was putting some grease in the drive shaft when my Traxxas XL-1 esc started smoking and the motor stopped so I assume it's one for the great boatyard in the sky, what I would like to know is if a Tornado 50A Marine Electric Speed Controller is suitable to run an MFA Marlin high torque motor?  Being very new to the hobby I haven't got a clue, I inherited the tugs ready built.

That will do Nicely Sir,but I will let you into a little secret.....Do yourself a BIG favour and buy a 900 sized motor,it is far superior to the MFA motor you have in the tug at the moment,it draws a lot less current that yours and you batts will last a good time LONGER and they draw less current
