Revell Subs

Guys,
looking at Revells U-boat kits, there is a 'wolf pack' boat and a 'north atlantic' boat, are both suitable for RC conversion?

Yes they can both be converted, and their size makes it easier that the other plastic subs out there. Check out the treads starts by Uboatbuilder a few down from this one.

They look really nice models, is the conversion quite easy? :)

It's probably as straightforward as it gets, short of buying a RTR boat.

My personal preference would be the Norbert Bruggen conversion. It's well laid out, with easy access, all the radio positions are pre-milled, the only tricky part is radially cutting the hull for the bayonet fixing.

The hulls are basically the same for the two kits anyway it is the tower that is the big differrence.  Don't forget there is a surface running option as well.  That way you get to show all the excellent detail all the time it is on the water as opposed to sat at a "decks awash" level required for a lot of the diving variants.
