Gday Larry

The Monsoon link should provide you with winch threading details.
I suggest you stick with the thicker cords as the boat is provided- these stay in the winch drum channels better than thinner line. Also you may find you do not need all the sheet travel available with the winch - if your TX has adjustable endpoints, limit the travel so you only get what you need - saves tangles in the winch, particularly with the jib sheet.
I would recommend a couple of mods:
1) Install a piece of plastic or card ABOVE the rudder servo but BELOW the mainsail sheet - saves some nasty tangles of main sheet in rudder servo (see pic below)
2) Replace the bowsie in the backstay (do the other bowsies if you feel like it) - it WILL break in the first decent gust of wind
3) Seal the hatch with electrical tape or similar to avoid leaks.
Surmount is a great boat IMHO. There are two distinct versions - the earlier version has a smaller round cross-section keel bulb and is very tender in stronger winds (keel bulb weight about 650 grams) the later version has an oval cross-section keel bulb and will hold nearly 900 g of lead shot - sails much better in a blow.
Video of it sailing in heavy weather here:

Gday Larry
Pleased to hear it went well - looking forward to photos.....
Photos for this forum ned to be very small (160Kb limit). You will need to use an application to resize them - there are hundreds of resizing applications around or some of the basic programs on your computer may already provide what is needed (eg Paint if you are using Windows)
Re improving performance - getting the sails set correctly is the key IMHO - settings depend ont he conditions of course....

Hi Larry

If the photos are in .jpg format, treat them as an attachment, instead of trying to upload as a photo.
