Good evening everyone!
Some more progress on the subject! Made the rudders out of 5mm marine ply and they were given 5 coats of polyurethane varnish. I carried on making the motor mount but is not glued yet in position, just checking out! Also made some floating test, looks good so far! More to come!

Looking really good.
Not a run of the mill model but the only one on the water. :-)) :-))

Do you get any problems with the motor mount bulkhead acting as a sounding
board to amplify any motor sounds?

Yannis......without knowing the motor sizing or loadings........you may wish to consider cutting some kidney shaped slots in the motor mounting plate to match the air cooling slots in the headcap face of the motors...Derek

It is some cardboard?

He is going to navigate, with what to protect you the cardboard?

I believe the cardboard is just a template to get the shape right and will be replaced with styrene sheet, if I read the original posts correctly.

Looks like it is starting to take shape. looking great!! :-)) Also like the use of the cardboard for a pattern material, will have to keep that in mind when I start my sport fishing build.

More progres! Started working on the upper bridge in styrene sheet. Also made the pavements(if I say it correctly???) for the passengers port and starboard. Here is some pictures!

Just found this build log while looking for something else - a great subject and great workmanship, well done so far :-))

The passenger pavements would be termed "walkways" - I think that's what you meant O0

Yannis.... very interesting :-))

1. I see the vehicular ramp is functional......
2. I also see from the first posting image the fulcrum lifting point is strangely low @ approx. 1/2 of the total ramp length
3. We also see safety chains fitted  %)...are the chains to support the ramp's water tightness @ sea?...as the chains appear to be non tensioned ...or slack in this image
4. Is the construction of your ramp sufficiently lead weighted to allow it fall under it's own weight when lowered via the wire cables?
5. Will you use some form of gasket between the inner ramp edges & the hull to maintain water tightness?

Hi Derek
I supose the lifting point of the rump is low to save some travel as it's operated pneumaticaly by a little piston which is located on the small deck just above the rump! The chains are always slack and they're there just in case! The rump itself is heavy enough(no lead) to lower by it's own weight and no, I'm not going to use any gasket as it doesn't have to be watertight as per the real think! Even in a rough sea very little water is coming in and that is from the hinge!
Also I'd like to state here that the model I'm building right now is not the one in the pictures in the begining of the log! Here is some pictures form the real one that's being modelled! KERKYRA is going to be the next one!

So, here is today's progres! While waiting for some styrene sheet to come through the post I made the funnel! Made a plag out of balsa and then pressed it on a piece of styrene heated in the avon! Also I taped all the tamplates together to get a rough idea and I found out that some adjustments are necesary! Good job I went that route before I started cutting on the final material ok2
