OK Yannis..... %)

The Carley Floats are great
The tyre fenders are superb
The third legs on the benches will support all of this roundish mature Greek women

But what is that thing across the top of the vehicular ramp?.......it looks like a large stretched out dead rat  {-)

Derek. Having travelled on this particular ferry and many like it I can tell you the "dead rat" is a sort of woven coir/rope
mat used on the jetty at the end of the ramp so the cars do not bottom out as they exit the ramp

Glad to see you back! What with Joe back as well, I will have to get the biscuits out for a good reading session.

She looks as good as I remember with some fine detail and a good fresh green colour.

I am making a complaint to the ferry company as I now have a cappucino in my lap as the skipper made a sharp left turn just as I was adding sugar!

She is quite nippy but not excessivly so, you might not get many customers though  :}

That's a good looking Ferry you have there - will you be populating it with crew / passengers ?

Regards,

Ray.

Dear Yannis,

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Bob Leckie, I am 67 and retired. I live in Brisbane Australia and one of my hobbies is model boats (RC). I am a member of the Logan City Marine Modellers here in Brisbane and also a member of Mayhem, from which I found your most excellent build post of your Open Ferry, Kerkyra, well done. I have learnt so much, in fact I copied it into a Microsoft word doc.

I'm writing to you because I am also building something similar. Down here in Australia and around the Pacific Islands we use what we term LCT barge - Landing Craft Transport. These barges are used to transport goods such as vehicles, earth-moving machinery, copra (coconut) and anything else that will fit on the deck.

Many years ago I worked up in the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) and we used an LCT barge to transport our road building equipment around the Island as there where no roads in those days. I was amazed with the way the LCT operated and have always wanted to build an RC model. I have searched for a scale plan but found nothing. My questions to you are did you build from a plan and if so would you mind shearing with me the company's details so I can contact them directly.

My build was going to be from ply wood and fiberglass over the top.

I worked on a copy of the original plans of the shipyard, they were kindly given to me by a friend of mine who is a naval architect. If you wish I could send you a copy no problem, just send me your address!!!

Mate, it is not wise to put your email on display. Easy target for hackers.

Best to send Yannis a personal message and then exchange details

Yes, not just hackers, but there are also bots/webcrawlers, malware that crawls around the internet seeking out specific kinds of data.
