Have done a search and cant find anything hope you guys can help

I have persuaded a mate to sell me his Engel Gato but there are no plans or layout plans of the insides as I will want to strip her down and make good any problems I find it would be handy to beg borrow or steel a set of plans off anyone who has some spare not needed any more I would of course re-emberse any costs incured

Well to be fair to Engel, they didn't muck you about, and it does say on their website out of stock for the kit.

The instructions are in stock however, so if you want to get them from Engel, I dare say you'll have them by the end of the week if you order them now.

One thing worth mentioning, that you may or may not be aware of- there has been at least two versions (that I know of) of that boat. The early boats had less detail, and there may have been some revisions to the insides too, although I'm not sure about the latter.

   Hi mark.
I have the Plans for the (gateau)  french version lol I mean Gato If you are in desperate need.  They show where all the
                 gubbins go inside.

Think there was a bit of a difference in the conning tower moulding with the two versions.

Thanks Andy the con isn't as detailed I don't think but I am willing to have a go at sorting that and also adding detail to it I don't know if the layout between the earlier and later models will have changed if at all and probably not by much (fingers crossed) it is the internal layout plans that I am really after I have acquired the build plans off U-33 (thanks Richard) which will help. I don't seem to be able to find any build logs I thought that their would be a few knocking about. I have seen a couple on the Sub Driver site with more detailed guns but no links to suppliers but I will keep looking and watching for any replies on here.

Hi Frank,
If you wouldn`t mind I would be grateful. Just need to make sure when I strip her down I can get everything back in the place it should be, I would obviously take photos of the strip down but even so you cant beat a plane from the makers

Not a build thread as such, but you may find some useful information in this thread- http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=778323&page=3

Don't know how old your kit is exactly, but if it's really old, at some point I believe Engel altered the spec of their piston tanks. Gordon Carey found this out when he ordered some new parts for his old Gato (model is about 30 years old). One of the plastic tank liners had developed a 'lump' resulting in a pretty major leak. He got some new tubing and seals from Engel. When they arrived he found they were a different size to the originals, so he ended up making new end-caps too. What should have been a simple exchange of parts turned into a fairly major refit.
