Such lifelike crisp detail Stan :-))...although a 'Maschinen mann' will be in trouble when he is found to have entered the engine space without his RED earmuffs  :embarrassed: ..... Derek

Well, I was going to comment, but as they are quite clean, I think I can turn a blind eye ok2

Lovely lovely work Stan. The razzledazzle scheme on your destroyer is fab.

While watching T/V last night during the BBC program Cuffs filmed  around Brighton they had a aerial shot of  boats. And to my surprise M 1096 Fische came into shot. M 1096 is a house boat now  a sad end to such good looking vessels. The Schutze M1062 from the last pictures I saw was just left in a dock part submerged.

More a palace boat given she dwarfs everything sles around her!

That would be an impressive dwelling especially if she was still seaworthy.

HI guys what now seems like a lifetime the model hopefully is very near completion. The new stand is made and varnished. Crew figures are  in place but the final piece to fit is the spray deflector I am trying double sided tape to fit this piece. Picture shows tape fitted ready for the screen. The white backing tape will be removed to reveal a clear tape so wish me luck.

Hi Stan

Your build and thread has been a cornucopia of delight, skill, and info  O0 really enjoyed it all. However it has taken so long that as your build looked better l aged badly. You could easily rename it The Dorian Gray.

Is the tape a special type or a good standard type that will resist water? Interesting idea.

HI Ian after numerous attempts and lots of flipping heck or words to that effect. :(( :(( :(( :(( the item is in place. I used double side tape plus Superglue. Surplus material now trimmed of the frame. Next job mask off and paint the framework pictures to follow. Nearly at the end of this post now. :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

After many hours of toil and distress and some sleepless  nights I think I have finally got the thing to stick. If all goes well next week will mask of the frame and paint.

Well after many years of construction the model is all but complete. The front spray deflector is  now complete after many attempts. I just need to gloss varnish the screen to remove some marks and fit a scramble net. In have enclosed some final pictures showing the model on its final stand also the dreaded front screen and the bridge detail. I would like to thank you all for comment's during this build. If you are going to Ellesmere in March the model will be on display final pictures later of the model sailing.

Stan. :(( :(( :(( :(( :(( :((now it is complete.
