Hi to everyone
« on: December 12, 2012, 10:40:06 pm »

Hi all, i am very new here
i am just about to acquire a caldercraft imara that has been built as a static display model with the intention of making her into a working tug.
I have many ideas regarding power/motors/esc etc but am not sure what would be a suitable 2 channel r/c kit to use.
I intend to use action electronics for the power so just need one servo for the rudder, smoke unit in the future, oh and lights of course!.
any advice from you experienced guys would be welcome as it is many years since i did any serious model making and am out of touch with the r/c kits available now.
many thanks
max

Welcome aboard.

I would recommend a Planet T5 radio set. They can be had for about £50 (give or take a bit - depends where you go). It is a 5 channel set, so will give you lots of expansion options.

This is a 2.4ghz set, so no need for crystals.
