brushless motors

will brushless motors run under water,i have been told they will????? thank you slug

Brushless motors have sealed windings and in sensor-less motors none of the circuit is open to the environment, so a motor in perfect condition with carefully sealed connectors will run under water.

However, bearings and the stators will be subject to corrosion over time.

I have no idea if it will perform as well under water though.

thank you for the reply,wondering if it was possible to fit one direct into a kort and using a sail winch to turn it 360 degrees????just a thought  ----slug

Don't see why not. My airboat flipped and kept running with no ill effects. Might be a serious corrosion problem in salt water, but a squirt of WD40 or similar after each fresh water outing and a thorough drying, it should be OK.
